Playing games while drunk – A scientific study
Sometimes, I like to kick back, have a few drinks and play an online multiplayer game. Lately, I’ve been playing a lot of Call of Duty MW2, so I figured that it would be interesting if I were to drink a set amount of vodka during each game and then record my score.
My first two drinks made me feel relaxed. I wasn’t uptight. I wasn’t nervous. I just did what I had to do and didn’t second guess myself. I’ve noticed this happening in the past. I just swan around the map notching up kills. Not too cautious. Not too eager – A balance that seems to pay off in one way or another. Unfortunately for those of you who are about to crack open a bottle of vodka and go online, that slight increase in performance during the first three games is about as good as it gets. After your second or third game, things begin to go pear shaped and before you know it, you’re spitting at your monitor and laughing manically at even the smallest of achievements. After that, it gets even worse. You begin to squint at the screen, your reactions become sluggish and your aim becomes non-existent. You are now a walking target who will frequently be found stationary and away from the keyboard. Eventually, you’ll reach your end-point and will no longer be able to continue playing the game. But who cares? You had fun, didn’t you?

I lol’d.
10char.
Excellent evaluation! We’ve noticed similar trends as well. My buddies and I have started calling that initial climb in performance “the no fear zone.” You tend to care slightly less making your play style more bold, which can usually throw off your opponents. Awesome data and summary!
1-2 drinks improves circulation of blood. And oxygen. Pre-intoxication. Performance vs BAC thereafter degrades with exponential decay of high order. Hence limits for driving where you can’t respawn :\
TL;DR Your performance temporarily improves, yet some people drink so fast said period is short in duration.
Excellent comment!
Disagree in every way. i play 100% when im drunk, because i think about things more, alot of ppl will sit still with their character on screen mine will be running about constantly flanking the enemy. when im sober however i just go for it. and normally have the same amount of kills as deaths.
i prefer drunk method.
